The total purchase value of 14 pcs. of electric traction units of series EN97 equals 284,232,900.00 PLN (gross), where qualified costs amount to 219,336,794.00 PLN. The project will be financed in the following manner:
- 109,668,397.00 PLN – funding from the European Regional Development Fund under the Regional Operational Programme of Mazovian Voivodeship 2007-2013 i.e.: 50% expenses of qualified costs (including: means from EFRR – 85% subsidy and means of State Budget – 15% subsidy),
- 95,569,853.00 PLN – credit from European Investment Bank
- 78,994,650.00 PLN – own means (including VAT coverage)
The investment covering the purchase of rail vehicles of series EN97obtained co-funding from the European Regional Development fund under the Regional Operational Programme of Mazovian Voivodeship (ROP Mazovia) 2007-2013.
In February 2011, by the power of the decision of the Management of Mazovian Voivodeship, the project covering the purchase of passenger rail rolling stock to service regional connections at the line of Warsaw Commuter Rail in the Warsaw Metropolitan Area was included into a/m Programme as the key one.
On 4 May, 2011 the pre-agreement was signed with the Managing Institution of ROP Mazovia – represented by the Management of Mazovian Voivodeship – to undertake activities to execute the a/m project. The Pre-agreement was signed by: the Marshal, Adam Struzik and Deputy-Marshal Marcin Kierwiński, on behalf of the Mangement of Mazovian Voivodeship, and on behalf of Warsaw Commuter Rail: the President of the Management Board, Grzegorz Dymecki and Member of the Board, Jolanta Dałek.
On 12 July, 2012 the Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodeship, Adam Struzik, Deputy Marshal Grzegorz Strzałkowski and the representatives of the Management of the Warsaw Commuter Rail signed the agreement on European subsidy to purchase 14 modern electric traction units. The subsidy amount from ROP Mazovia as per the agreement amounts to above 109.6 mln PLN.
